Event Coordinators: 1. STEM focal teacher 2. STEM focal girl student.
Date: 21/ May/2022
The girl STEM advocate in discussion with the STEM focal teacher planned eight STEM activities to be carried out on the day. The objective of the event was to make students experience that building machines are easy and fun. The idea is to let them have fun, be in their free spirit and bring out the creativity in them. There was no challenge, competition or exhibition involved.
Eight activities were chosen for the event. The models were all sourced from various channels on YouTube. 1. Making a steam machine 2. Making a fan using magnet and copper wire ( making a DC motor) 3. Building a Submarine 4. Wind car 6. Balloon propelling car 7. Seismography 8. Creating a blog
The focal teacher with the help of the STEM girl students downloaded the videos and transferred them (one each on a desktop) on the desktop in the IT lab. The students were first made to watch the videos and afterwards to build the models.
The students were seen enjoying every minute of the process. All materials required were provided. The students then built their models in groups of three and four.
